Ubuntu Tweak 0.3.0 released!
April 30th, 2008 | by TualatriX |There’s a long time since the 0.2.10’s release. Now I’m proud to announce the first release of Ubuntu Tweak 0.3 series: Ubuntu Tweak 0.3.0 is coming!
I decided to release it when the Ubuntu 8.04’s release, but something wasn’t done yet.
I saw some people can’t run Ubuntu Tweak 0.2.10 under Ubuntu 8.04, so the 0.3.0 comes, you should get it. It is support Hardy with full features!

At Ubuntu Tweak 0.3.0, there’s many bugs fix and ui improvement, you may not notice it, but it’s really happens.
The most important thing is: Ubuntu Tweak is not only support Ubuntu, it is also support some major distributions, such as Fedora, OpenSUSE. Of course, it must be GNOME desktop. But I haven’t the time to create other distribution’s package, and I’ll continue focus on Ubuntu system.
The screeshot shows that Ubuntu Tweak running on Fedora 9 Preview:
New feature? Yes. One new feature is added, that’s “Shortcuts” settings.
At daily work, You must have some often used applications, why not start them by just press one key(single or combination). Through Ubuntu Tweak 0.3.0, it’s very easy to set a shortcut.

Thanks to the people report bugs on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-tweak/trunk/, I’ve fixed most bugs, now this application is more stable than before. It can run well since Ubuntu 7.04(GNOME 2.18).

kind of a newbie to ubuntu, but does ubuntu restrict the cpu? i noticed that the cpu policy is @ 85% by default. any reason why it is not 100%?

Some strings are not translateable, for example:
“You can safely delete the item, it will only been marked as hidden…”
“disabled” (shortcuts)

Great App. I have been using this since feisty, gutsy, and now hardy. I just updated to the 0.3, but there is no Compiz control. Is this coming?

I keep getting an error message: “Sorry, Ubuntu Tweak closed unexpectedly.” I’m using Hardy and have updated to the correct source list.

The reason why Compiz control isn’t appearing in Ubuntu Tweak for you, is because you haven’t downloaded the advanced Desktop Effects Settings..

nice work, but as i said there is still a mistake in the template for shell scripts
it’s not /usr/bash but /bin/bash

Thank you Lee Jarratt. That did the job. I hadn’t downloaded ccsm because I didn’t want the full blown compiz effects manager. But I found “Simple-CCSM”, which puts simpler compiz controls in the Appearance Menu. Exactly what I need.
